After about day 10 or so, you should definately have built the castle and since unlocked the Banker/Treasurer. This is probably the most important thing that will get you to day 100 and onwards. (Unless you need Ballista workers.) This should be a very good and productive start which will prepare you for the rest of the game. Just keep making archers after that, nonstop. I don't use farmers, I think they're pricey and wasteful, and you can make just as much, if not more, from hunting rabbits. This is essential for "bunny money" as I like to call it. Do this on both sides of your Kingdom if there isn't a peasant camp in the way. Now you're going to want to get about 3 builders at first to just go and chop down all the wood you can to make a huge amount of grassland where rabbits will spawn. Find your portal side, and your dock side and get those chests looted for some extra starting gold. From here, go explore if you haven't already, discover your "peasant camps" as I like to call them, and recruit as many people as you can. This will allow you to fend off the first few nights very easily, just building the campfire up and getting all your free walls. It is helpful to have previously sailed with a fresh, full bag of gold and a couple of knights. Ok, for starters, you're going to want to start off playing very conservative. (Although the Archer Shrine is recommended.) Although they might make it easier, extra things like the baker, special mounts, or anything else are not necessary. Just so you know, this can be done no matter how many upgrades/unlocks you have.
